All of the photos in this section are taken directly as off tape video screen grabs from Sony's F900R HDCam that was used to shoot this programme. All of the footage was shot by Jonathan Young on location in Israel and other countries in the Middle East.

The programme was shot be shown as part of the BBC's 60 Years strand around the anniversary in May 2008. The series detailed the history and formation of the State of Israel through a string of interviews from those who were there during the turbulent start to the nation. The programme was presented by Jeremy Bowen.
